Very easy answer but I need to know more. The min. bet at the table? Single or double zero wheel? Are your units $1 or $5? If its $5 min. at a single zero wheel, bet $5 on red & black. If its $5 min. at a double zero wheel, switch off red & black. Use dollar chips..... ($5 min.), $1 on 5 different double streets. OR ($10 min.), $2 on 4 different double streets & $1 on the other two double streets. Ken

jhincks, that to you (and me) would sound logical.

Some casinos will not allow equal opposing bets even though they KNOW they are in the advantage.

At craps, and if you are the shooter you cannot play both the Pass and Don't Pass at the same time as you "do not have an interest in the game"  (whatever that means).

You do have 'an interest in the game' if one bet is higher than the other.

So in the case of roulette, $5 on red and $6 on Black should suffice.

Some dealers could care less how you bet.  They do their job and can't wait for quitting time.  Sometimes dealers mis-interpret what they are told and will tell you that isn't allowed even though it is. Some think that the table is their personal fiefdom and do anything it takes to protect it (mostly Euro dealers).

The "rules", both real and imaginary, vary from casino to casino and can vary from shift to shift within that same casino.

I have found that establishing some sort of a rapport with the dealer can be useful more often than not.

Keep winning.

I would consider different things:

- Bet 1 chip, table's lowest minimum
- Pick 6 blocks of 4 numbers. And bet the minimum. Till my numbers come up.
- If the tables have a low minimum on outside bets just pick 2 row's / dozen and bet 0.5 - 1 on each.

I guess it depends of the table.

Since this is an International forum I'll just state that in the USA it is rare to find a table, regardless of the game, where a $5 bet is not the min.  In Atlantic City finding a table below a $10 min. is a rare feat.

In some parts of Nevada, you may well find a $3 min. table for roulette and craps at some of the 'locals' joints mid-week.

The cheapest roulette table in Mississippi probably is the $4 min. one at Treasure Bay Casino.  I like that table as I can usually do well betting finals and not worry about placing that extra dollar to make it a $5 bet.

The days of either 25-cent or 50-cent roulette chips with a $1/$2 min. bet are long gone.  Only on-line can you find that and lower.
