My Most Recent Trip to Atlantic City - Part 1

My most recent trip to AC went significantly better this time.  Last time I went (for those that didn't read about it), I lost a bunch of money, mainly due to my girlfriend (and a little bit due to my lack of self control).

I fixed both of those problems on this trip.

I stayed at the Borgata again, however I didn't play there this time.  I made my way down to The Hilton and played there.

Before I went, I decided that I was going to try to use the columns to try to make my bets.  I have memorized the double-zero wheels layout, however, if I decide that I want to bet on more than 3 numbers to the right and left of my predicted number, I still have some trouble bringing those numbers to the forefront of my mind, and then betting on them from the top of the layout down (in numerical order...not "wheel order"...which looks ridiculous and I'm pretty sure would be a dead giveaway as to what I was trying to do...your hand ends up going up and down all over the layout over and over.  A simple rewind and playback of the tape of my table would show I was betting sectors of the wheel.)

So, back to my point.  As I said, I decided I was going to try to use the columns to make my bets on my predicted number and the numbers to the left and right of it.  The columns on the double-zero wheel allow you (most of the time) to do this pretty effectively.

This is also something I can't do in my head, so I wrote everything down ahead of time in a notebook.  I have a picture of that notebook below.

In the picture, you'll see a number in the top left hand corner of each "section".  That number is my "predicted" number.  Then, you'll see directly to the right of that (Circled in Blue), a "1E" "3E"  "5E".  That stands for "1 Either Side" "3 Either Side" & "5 Either Side".

So, 1 either side, simply means 1 number to the right and left of the predicted number, followed by what numbers those are written down in numerical order.  Same with the 3E and 5E.  I had these written down in case I felt my predictions were accurate enough to actually bet on specific numbers and not the columns.

Then, two columns over to the right, labeled "C" and "N".

Circled in green (under the C column...which stands for Columns) you'll see two numbers.  If you take the predicted number, and count 9 numbers to the left, and 9 numbers to the right (giving you half wheel coverage with your predicted number dead center in that half of the wheel) those numbers are the columns in which the numbers you've just "counted off" are most heavily weighted in.

Circled in purple, under the "N" column (which stands for numbers) are the numbers that are in the half of the wheel your predicted number is in, but are not bet on if you bet on the two columns written down.

So betting on the columns labeled under "C" as well as whatever numbers are in the "N" column, allows you bet on an entire half of the wheel, where your predicted number is dead center in the half of the wheel you're betting on.

Lastly, circled in red, is the number of numbers in the "N" column.  This number simply allowed me to quickly calculate my bet amount.

To figure my bet amount, I would simply multiply that number by two, and that would be the number of units to bet on each column.  Then, I would simply bet one unit on each of the numbers in the "N" column.

If I were to win by the one of my "C" (column) bets winning, I would win however many units were circled in red (the number I multiplied by two).  If I were to win by one of my "N" (number) bets winning, I would win anywhere from 16 all the way down to 1 units (depending on how many numbers are in the "N" column.  The more numbers in the "N" column, the less I would win if one of those numbers hit.)

Obviously, this method isn't nearly as profitable as if I were to just bet on the 19 numbers I was actually covering by betting where I did.  However, it did allow for me to get wins where I was completely wrong about the predicted number (which happened...obviously).

To the right of the red circle, you'll see a "tab" that has 13-20 written on it.  You see, I knew it would probably be a bad idea to have this notebook open to all of things in the picture below the whole time.  So, here is what I did:

The pages that look like the one in the picture were all in the back of the notebook.  I used the front of the notebook to record information about the columns (which I didn't really care about, it was just a "throw them off" type technique).  Whenever I made my prediction, I just simply picked the tab that had my predicted number on it (for instance, if my predicted number was 14, I would grab the 13-20 tab, flip open to that page, and bet where I was supposed to, and then flip back to my "fake column data" in the front of the notebook.  In practice, I had the notebook open to that page for all of 5-7 seconds)

The picture of the notebook is below.

Now that you know what I was doing, part 2 will be how I did doing it.

And for those who will say I never went to AC...this is for you:

Part 2:

Alright, here is how I did.

I was in AC for 3 days.  I ended up leaving with a profit of $396.

Day 1: + $122
Day 2: + $98
Day 3: + $176

The strangest thing happened to me on Day 3.

I had been at the tables for about and hour and a half.  At this point, I went on a pretty good winning streak.

I had won 21 out of my last 21 bets.  Now, keep in mind, I didn't win all of those because I was correct about my predicted number.  In fact, of those 21 bets I won, 4 of those wins were on the complete opposite side of the wheel I bet on, and I only won because I was using columns as well as straight up numbers.  In other words, those 4 wins were luck.

11 of those wins came on numbers that were 8-9 numbers away from my predicted number.

5 wins came from numbers that were within 4-7 numbers of my predicted number.

1 win came from a direct hit on a straight up number that was in the one column I wasn't betting on.

I made a "deal" with myself, that if my predictions averaged out over the course of any 20 spin period to a "within 4 number" average of my predicted number, that I would use the "1E" "3E" and "5E" data from my notebook to place my bets.  Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Now, right after I had just won my 21st bet, there was a dealer change.  I didn't think anything of it (and I still don't know if I should think anything of it to be honest...could have just been a coincidence).

The dealer proceeded to spin the wheel and the ball.  I did what I had been doing, I got my bets placed in time and was just waiting to see what happened.

The moment the ball hit the rotor, the ball jumped up out of the wheel, hit the plexiglass that was on the side of the wheel and the ball fell in between the plexiglass and the wheel itself.  The pit boss (Stuart), came over to retrieve the ball.

It took him a minute to find it, but he did.  The dealer took the ball from him, place it on that little circle thing on the table (this is a guess, but I think that "circle" thing they put the ball on is to make sure the ball isn't magnetic in any way).

I then said out loud (kind of half to myself and half really asking) "Can I take my bets off?".  The pit boss said "no, sorry you can't".  Then, the dealer spun the ball...much, much slower though.  I mean, the ball left the dealers hand at about a 1 second per rotation speed.  It made two rotations around, then the pit boss said "But you can move them if you'd like", but as he said that, the dealer called no more bets.

I lost that bet.  I then packed it in and left.

As I said, I have no idea whether or not that was a "counter-measure" or not.  But, it was enough for to leave.

So, all in all, it was a much better trip this time.  I'm going back on the 16th of this month (It is my girlfriends birthday...but I have made sure she has lots of "appointments" to keep her busy).

As with most people who play roulette, I used to wholeheartedly believe in "systems" and "patterns" and everything else that falls under the topic of Gamblers Fallacy.

Now that I'm trying advantage play, I'm beginning to fully realize the damage that can cause.  And I don't mean the losses or anything.  I'm talking about how hard it is to fully get those ruts I wore into my brain out of my brain.

Here is an example:  At one point I was at the table and I saw one column show up 6 times in a row.  During the next spin my prediction was a number that would involve me betting on the 1st and 3rd column.  I did it, but I can't tell you how much of that old side of my brain where all my gamblers fallacy systems are "stored" was yelling "What are you doing?  That column can't hit again!".  (I won that bet).

The point is, in my opinion, unless one fully realizes the ball doesn't and won't ever follow any sort "rules" you've layed out ahead of time, it will be difficult to make any progress in this game.

Just an interesting thought I had while at the table that day, that I thought would be nice to share.

Dear Rob, your trip report is most appreciated.

Nice to see you are learning from past experiences.

What I loved the most this time?

Thanks Victor, I too am glad I'm finally learning from past experiences, haha.

I thought some might find that second picture I included humorous, glad to hear you were one of them  ;D

If anybody has tried/is thinking about trying to write down everything like I did in that notebook, I wrote an RXtreme file that made it so much easier.

Doing it manually isn't so bad when it comes to writing down the neighbors that are 1 and 3 numbers to the left and right of your target number in numerical order.

It gets kind of tedious trying to write down the neighbors that are 5 numbers to the left and right of your target number in numerical order, but the biggest pain comes when trying to determine in which columns the numbers are most heavily weighted in as far as the half of the wheel you're targeting.

So, what the RXtreme file does is this:

The first "click" of a number will place a chip on the number you've clicked and the neighbors 1 number to the left and right of the number you clicked.

The second "click" of a number will place a chip on the number you've clicked and the neighbors 3 numbers to the left and right of the number you clicked.

The third "click" of a number will place a chip on the number you've clicked and the neighbors 5 numbers to the left and right of the number you clicked.

Each time you do that, RXtreme places the numbers with bets on them in numerical order beneath the table "layout" where the bets are.  So you simply write them down.

The fourth "click" of a number will place a chip on the number you've clicked and the neighbors 9 numbers to the left and right of the number you clicked (giving you one entire half of the wheel with chips on it).

Then, you look at the layout and see which two columns there are more chips in than others.  Those are your two target columns.  Then, you would write down the numbers that aren't in your target columns and those would be the numbers that would have to be manually covered.

If anybody is interested in this RXtreme file let me know.

Thanks for the report.

Was interested in how you get your predicted number to start. I am sure it posted on the board somewhere could you please point me in the right direction.

Also noticed in another post that you live near a slot casino that has a 20 seat screen RGN wheel. I have seen the Bally machines but never anything like that. I will be working in Middle Smithfield in two weeks. What casino or track is that in?

Thanks

I was choosing my predicted number with visual ballistics (at least attempting to...still very very new to it).

As for the RNG wheel, it is actually 12 seats (6 on each side).  It is at Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs and there is another one at Mt. Airy Casino and Lodge.

They're made by a company called "ShuffleMaster".  You can see a picture (a bad one) at this link: nolinks://nolinks.slot-machine-resource.com/images/vegasstar.JPG
