Why roulette over baccarat?

All,

  As this forum is primarily a roulette forum, the baccarat section gets very little message traffic.  I can understand that.

  However, I'm curious as to why so many people who spend so much time and effort on the mathematical model that is roulette, rarely, if ever, give a second look to baccarat?

  Especially those who play on the American style wheel.

  I can see where the fascination with roulette and the multiple iterations of wagering that can be accomplished might very well be the reason to stay with the wheel, but if your main, bottom line effort is to show a profit, why have you forsaken baccarat?

  Easy to play.  Very low vig.  Minimal available bets.  And no GREEN monster to wreck even the most perfectly executed money management plans.

  It's the equivalent of playing Red/Black with on a no zero wheel and the vig only comes on ONE of the winning wagers!

  I'm just asking the question out in the blind but I would be curious as to why most people here are so strong on roulette and have given baccarat the brush off.

  Not complaining, just curious.

I reckon most serious roulette players do not bother with the even chances. So that is a total put off for baccarat. And there might not be a zero, but there are ties, etc.

As for me, I can't for the life of me get comfortable with the fact that I want to put $50 on banker, and the entire table + 3 rows standing have about $47,000 riding on player!

I put my $50 on banker and, well, if they could stone me to death they would!

The reason  for the preference of  roulette over baccarat is  rather simple:

Just follow the money. The bankroll required  for baccarat  is  much higher than for  a  roulette game. No Nickel and Dime players need  to apply.

A sharp cat  who knows   how to play  EC e.g.   Red or  Black  has  no problem   at a  Baccarat table.

Experience and knowing  What   When , and How much to bet  are the key factors  to any winning session.

I kind of figured it had to be something along those lines of not playing the EC under roulette.

By the way, the TIES in baccarat are just that.  A tie.  No money won or lost for either side.  All wagers are returned.

Thats because they're idiots. They never do the math
and see that there are no 'best' bets in roulette, they're
all exactly the same. Except for the 1-2-3-0- bet, and
who plays that anyway.
