The Zig Zag Theory

Thank you for taking the time to look over my method and I appreciate any comments you have, I have been using this method on and off for a couple of years and have had relative success with it. I wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were and where it could be improved.

The reason I call this the Zig Zag Theory is that the betting structure is indeed a Zig Zag, Black, Red, Black, Red, Black, Red, the reason that I have chosen this betting structure is that I have very rarely seen a sequence of such. Note that I'm not saying I haven't seen it just that I rarely see it
.
My idea is that if we bet in a Zig Zag fashion then we can account for long streaks of colours and negate most of the sequences that are thrown at us

The Money Side

I personally use a Martingale progression slightly tweaked, I have two versions and a theoretical one yet to be put into practice.

Version 1 – Highly Aggressive
Bet #   Bet u.   Tot. Bet   Win u.   Balance after Win

1   1   1   2   +1
2   2   3   4   +1
3   5   8   10   +2
4   11   19   22   +3
5   24   43   48   +5
6   48   91   96   +5

Version 2 – Standard Martingale
Bet #   Bet u.   Tot. Bet   Win u.   Balance after Win

1   1   1   2   +1
2   2   3   4   +1
3   4   7   8   +1
4   8   15   16   +1
5   16   31   32   +1
6   32   63   64   +1

Version 3 – Martingale Tweaked
As above however any wins are put onto bet 6 and 5.

The Goal

My aim isn't to win every time I visit the Casino but rather to be up over a long period of time. Generally how I play is to win 50% of my bankroll each session. This helps me negate the probability of a Zig Zag that is the exact opposite of mine coming up.

I'm going to brace myself now for everyone's thoughts.

Please note that this isn't purely my theory but more of a collaboration of myself and a couple of others.

Thanks for the contribution, much appreciated.

Think like this, if you bet six times in a row using R B R B R B then you have the odds 1 in 64, because there is 64 patterns and 1 match you betting march the oppisite way B R B R B R.
That is pretty good odds.

If you have to play Marty - for exampel 1 2 4 8 16 32 that is a total of around 63 units, then try to win 25% twice and you will succed most of times.
What happen is that if you reach around 15 units profit twice you won half the progression and can start to play with half that base bet.
You would play with casino money and you have to hit two losing patterns twice to lose it all back from that position.

For exampel, let say minimum is 10 Euro for the outside bets, then minimum for the inside bets would be 2 Euro.
Then you can play three lines for 6 Euro covering a even money bet.
So if you only play High/Low you can use regression and play half the bet size.

This is how i would improve you way of playing.

Cheers

Hi DJM87 – thanks for posting this.

Could you possibly give some advice on how to play?

This is one of my previous games:-

5      R
30    R
29    B
3      R
20    B
24    B
5      R
20    B
12    R
6      B
16    R
24    B
2      B

I thought about waiting for a 3 step zig-zag, spins 4-5-6, No's 29,3,20 BRB then start betting that the alternation would not continue, a win on 24 black.

So after a win do I play another 5 spins following the initial zig-zag.

Can I take it that I continue to the completion of the Marty – so I don't stop on say a 16unit loss but rather continue with a 32unit bet even though that would be a 7th bet?

Thanks in anticipation.  :)

You realize that hitting rbrbrb is the same as rrrrrr or bbbbbb?  It looks different, but mathematically it isn't.

Using a Marty on this will--sooner or later--eat your lunch.

Hi Portside.

I've done some further testing with the Zig Zag and it doesn't seem as consistent as my previous betting method. I have used something similar which is B B R R B B R R etc and had pretty good results.

Two Cat, I completely agree with you. If you walk into a Casino and play Martingale all night you will lose everything. My plan however is to hit and run. I only try to win 20 percent of my bankroll so around 12 units to keep the chance of going bust low.

In the interest of full disclosure I will say that I've tried this method with a friend of mine at the Casino for around 11 visits. So not a massive amount but it gives us a bit of a indication of its success. And we wanted to trial it until busy so we played with the aim of doubling our bankroll, so 5 times more than I would suggest. Surprisingly we have doubled our bank roll 8 out of 11 times and lost the 63 units 3 times so we are still ahead.

My long  term plan is to  build the bankroll to a high enough level so that 5 or 6 wins equal 50 or 60 gbp. That way it truly  is hit and run.

TwoCatSam

That way it truly  is hit and run.

What do you do when you "hit and lose"?

I this so-called hit and run worked, casinos would fold.

You can NEVER avoid the "run from hell" even if you only bet for ten minutes.

Trust me:  Been there; done that!

Hi TwoCat.

I'm under no illusion that I will hit and lose. My aim is to win more than I lose, very simple I know but if I can add 4 or 5 units worth of loses to my bankroll for every one time I lose I will still be up and progressing.

I don't think there is any way to beat a roulette table 100 per cent of the time but I do believe that you can work it so that you can absorb a loss or two.
